I closed my eyes
I remembered a childhood place
A place at the edge of the marsh
And I was once again
In the midst of softly speaking willow
trees
Watched over by bulrush sentinels
And there I beheld a Sabbath breathing
Breath as an offering
Sacred and Holy
All around me
God’s creatures were
Breathing witness into one another
All of creation was gathered in
A communion of breath
Moving into this act of communion
I opened myself to the blessing
Inhaling…exhaling
Offering trust ~ Seeking balance
Breathing with Sabbath
Discovering that in the Breath of God
With all of life ~
we carry and are carried
We remain with the God
Who remains with us
“Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for God commanded and they were created.
God established them forever and ever;” (Taken from Psalm 148)
